Custom Blog Design: Belle Photography

I am LOVING this new design for Belle Photography. Amanda and Maegan are 2 sweet, pretty and talented Wedding Photographers from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area specializing in candid, creative, artistic, and modern photos.

They wanted a fresh new look for their blog and described their style as romantic/vintage/fairy tale. Their brand board was filled with soft muted colors mixed with whimsical and lace elements and a hint of quirky-ness.

My mind was racing with ideas and I sent over the draft to the girls. I always love hearing “you nailed it” from my clients.

I am so excited to see what’s next for these girls. They stand out from the rest with their awesome personalities and unique style. Loved working with you girls!

Custom Logo and Blog Design: Jody Savage Photography

Oh Jody. We had so much fun working on her new brand together.

Jody has a full time job and has still managed to build up a gorgeous portfolio. She says “After years and years of studying, workshops, classes I decided to take the plunge and take my hobby to the next level.”

Not only did I love her sense of style and the message she wanted to send, but she pushed me to new levels with this project.

She came to me with a clear idea of what she wanted – a home page showcasing her beautiful work in a slideshow and a different look for the blog. [panic...I hadn't seen this done before...could I do it?] With a bunch of work arounds, my love for ProPhoto has become deeper as my knowledge grows.

Aren’t Jody and her family the cutest ever?!

We worked together to make something I am truly proud of and I am SO excited to see her make her dreams come true with her new brand.

My Heart

December 26th, 2005 I shook a lot of stranger’s hands. Little did I know, I shook the hand of my future husband.

I was 20 years old..and lost. In college changing majors, struggling to find what I wanted to do with my life. Who I would be. I took a semester off from college (while my parents held their breath, supporting my decision but praying I would go back and finish my degree.)

My brother got my foot in the door with a great company that was hiring entry level positions. I was doing boring data entry but I felt like a grown up with a big girl, 9-5 job. I thought that’s what I wanted. And at the time, it was exactly what I needed.

I moved up the ranks, switched departments and found myself working with a group of awesome people – 20somethings – cool girls who embraced me and invited me to lunches – and hot men…

Enter Ryan. 2 cubicles away sat the 6’4″, 26 year old former college football player from Montana.

I must have made a good impression as I walked by on my way to the water cooler because HE MYSPACED ME.

Yep. We flirted innocently and before I knew it I was sitting across the table from him in a nice restaurant, laughing and telling our life stories. The connection was instant. The awkward silence non-existent. This was the real deal.

Fast forward almost 6 years later and we are married with a baby girl on the way [be still my heart].  Our relationship has been – dare I say – easy? I mean of course we have our moments but being with him is what makes me happy.

I feel like Charlotte when Samantha asks her when was the last time she was happy in her relationship; “Everyday… Not all day everyday, but…everyday.”

He has my heart. ::Happy Valentine’s Day my love::

Oh, and yes I went back and got my degree in Graphic Design. Not only did I meet the man of my dreams, but I found my passion. Working with creative people – who get it.

Starting the nursery

It’s getting real around here. As we were opening up the box for the chair it hit me…we were setting up our daughter’s room. The Himalayan Mist paint is on the walls. The chair is in the corner. Baby girl is kicking up a storm. She knows how much love there is waiting for her out here. 3 months left. We can’t wait.

Next up…our crib and changing table. And some fun art and DIY projects to put the finishing touches on.  eee!

Oh, I already love the tones you have in the nursery! I have a similar glider but different wood color and fabric, I’d really like to change the cushion fabrics so that it was more of a modern baby color scheme. Anyway, love it so far- keep posting pics! :)

Thanks Jess! I can’t wait to get crafting and make some cute pinterest projects :) I’ll keep posting :)

How beautiful Emily. Your baby girl is going to love her new nursery. I hope you and your husband enjoy every moment of preparing for your new arrival. It reminds me of preparing for my girls arrival home.

Thanks Jonni! We’re loving this exciting time. I’m on the hunt to find some beautiful crib bedding now.

Thanks Jen! Love you!

Custom Blog Design: Belinda Olsen Photography

Belinda was a dream client. She knew her style and what design elements she was looking for. We worked together to create her new blogsite for her photography. She loves to craft, cook, bake, read, repurpose old items, studied interior design in school and loves home decor and letterpress. She uses her blog to connect to her readers, use it as a resource for recipes, DIY projects and feel uplifted after.

Her brand board was a collection of beautiful typography, kraft paper, and simple/clean/modern images.

I presented her with a draft similiar to this and we tweaked a few things to make it scream Belinda:)

::Client Recap::

Five words to describe your brand:
Modern, timeless, clean, approachable, fun!

My favorite part of the design:
All the little details! I especially love how the date header turned out with such great depth, texture and pattern. The little details make such a significant impact.

Did you enjoy the process working with Emily?
As soon as I filled out Emily’s questionnaire and saw that one instruction was to create a pinterest branding board, I knew it was a match made in Heaven! (I had the board completed long before) Emily really took the time to listen to the things that mattered most to me and make it happen.

What’s next for Belinda Olsen Photography?
Lots of fun things are on the horizon for Belinda Olsen Photography! I’m going back to my photography roots of shooting film and will offer both digital and film packages:)Also this year a big emphasis will be on capturing the heart of the DIY bride. Lastly, I’m feverishly working on accomplishing my bucket list through my 101 in 1001. Don’t know what that is? Go check it out and create your list today!

Head over to see Belinda’s words on her new look.
